Thank you Montréal!

Today, I'm feeling grateful.
Thirteen years ago, I loaded all of my belongings into a U-Haul and headed north to Montréal. I didn't know a single person, but I trusted that my intuition would not steer me wrong.
My goal was simple: to live in a North American city where I could ditch my car and ride around on two wheels instead. More than a decade later, I'm happy to say I've accomplished exactly that.
These days, I do my grocery shopping on foot or by bike, and I'm grateful for the many protected bike lanes that have transformed the city over the past five years. While I won't pretend to love Montréal's frigid winters, I do love living in a place overflowing with creativity and eccentricity—where I can cycle to the river, have access to nature, stumble upon unexpected moments of beauty, and feel safe walking home after dark.
Boston will always hold a special place in my heart, but Montréal has become home. And yes, after 13 years, I suppose I can finally stop calling it my “new” home.
Thank you, Montréal, for making me feel welcome!
